Window Display: Fall 2016
Our fall 2016 window displays celebrate our launch of our “Local Hero” yarn — a locally sourced, milled, and dyed yarn whose colorways are named for local heroes. 25% of purchase price of hero’s colorway goes to their project. The left window shared images of our heroes.
Also included: images from “Farm to Yarn” – from animals and their fiber (thanks to Blue Ridge Fiberworks) to mill (Morning Star Fiber mill), to yarn dyeing right here at Purl’s!
In the right window, fiber animals are the heroes! And they are contemplating heroes and villains as they read superhero comics (Squirrel Girl!) and Sock Monkey’s Guide to Fiber Fiends: “Heartless Red,” “Horrible ‘Homespun’ Harry,” “Baron Caron,” “Foul ‘Fun’ Furman,” and “The Needler.”
Local Hero yarns celebrate DeWayne Barton (Hood Hugers/Pearson Plan), Barbara Vassallo (Mountain Lady Farm Project), Franzi Charen (Asheville Grown), and Rev. Amy Cantrell (BeLoved Asheville).
