Kids Classes
Knitting with Kids
Learning to knit at a young age is a lifelong gift. You and your child will learn the basics of knitting while creating a lovely washcloth. We recommend age 8 and up (younger kids really don’t yet have the hand dexterity, but may enjoy finger knitting).
Class cost is $25 a session per kid. Classes are scheduled when there is interest at a time that works for both you and us! To contact the store about interest in or questions about the class, call 828-253-2750 or email us.
Materials to buy (at Purl’s): Size 7 or 8 needles, light colored worsted weight wool yarn.
Teacher Rik Schell, one of the store owners, has taught kids of various ages many things and loves having crochet be on the list.

Crochet with Kids
Learning to crochet is also an awesome thing to learn at a young age! You and your child will learn the basics of crochet while creating a lovely washcloth. We recommend age 8 and up (younger kids really don’t yet have the hand dexterity, but may enjoy finger chaining).
