Viewing:  sometimes we watch a nerdy show or series. Join our Nerd Night email to get updates on what we might be viewing.

Join us for some crafty socializing and nerdy video viewing. We are IN PERSON with a hybrid component for those who don’t live in Asheville or who want to participate from home.

When in person: Store is closed during Nerd nights. Folks are welcome to bring snacks to share and/or their own treats or dinner. Luckily Ingles is nearby for quick treat-getting. We usually lock the door once we start stuff so try to arrive on time or give us a heads up via text, phone, or email that you are coming but might be late.

Bring a project to work on (but keep it easy since you might get distracted)

Free IN-PERSON open stitch group to Purl’s community of stitchers. Join our Stitch Group and socialize with other stitchers. Bring your knit or crochet project to work on as you talk. Or just spend some time checking in with your stitching buddies (new, old, or inbetween!). This is not a time to get formal help, but rather a time to socialize, enjoy each other’s company and see what each other are making.

Bring something to craft on (crochet, knitting, spinning, mending, needle felting, drawing, etc.) as we gather to do handwork together and enjoy one another’s company mid-week. Finding community for both laughing and raging are essential right now. You are welcome to bring your dinner and eat while you are here (Ingles nearby if need to pickup something). Sometimes we have snacks to share (but not always).

Continuing beginning skills of knitting. This is a followup session to Beginning Knit 1 of 2. Continue with skills of casting on, knitting, and purling. Also a great refresher session for those returning to knitting after a long time.

Skills taught are for knitting flat. 

• Cost of individual 2 hour session: $30   
• Must register in advance for this class by noon on Thursday week of class. Please call, email, or stop by the store to register. 
• Masks supported if desired, but not required. We have multiple air filtration devices in our space to help with air flow.  
• Classes limited to 3 students. 
• Class is for ages 14 and up only. Please call or email us to schedule special lessons for younger children.  
• Class taught by Rik or Elizabeth. 
• We prefer and recommend purchasing materials at the store.   Materials needed for session: US 7 or 8 needles (can be straight but 24″ circular recommended & preferably wood or bamboo); medium weight (worsted) light colored yarn, preferably wool. If purchasing at store, can do before or on day of class (but do not show up early on class day. We open at 10am)
