    Sometimes it’s hard being an insane genius, lol. I’m designing a circular double knit cape with a beaded star chart on one side and astrological symbols on the other, and of course every piece of it has to be EXTRA, because this is how I roll. I just want to start knitting but I have to draw everything out first.

    Did you know that Noro calls their big yarn balls “dragon eggs”? They are as precious as treasure! Yes, they do cost $40 to $50, but they are 200 grams, the size of four normal Noro balls, and they have so many colors packed inside. We have Kompeito (cotton), Akari (silk/cotton), Ito (wool), and Rikka (wool chunky). Just restocked hoping for lots of baby dragons.

    Our cats are not named Knit and Purl. They are Toastie and Cheesy. They are the best cats. But they love yarn too much to be in the store, so you will have to appreciate them from afar.

    Social media became a shitshow years ago. Facebook and Instagram got businesses hooked on free advertising, and it made a lot of sense for a while, getting visibility in the feeds of people who were actually interested in what we were posting about. But as the algorithm inexorably shifted to monetization (and “engagement” by making people angry all the time), it became clear that these (to say nothing of Twitter) are toxic platforms by design.

    So we’re trying to break up with Zuckerberg. If you still find these spaces useful, we get it. No judgment. There are family members I still check on there, and friends who mainly communicate that way. We don’t want to cut off communication with you, either. Our plan is to post here on our own site, and repost to FB and Insta for a while yet. But the old-school way of actually going to a website to check on someone you’re interested in … we MISS that! So we’re going to try that.
